...to an Island in the Middle of The ThamesPublished on Tuesday 31 July 2018
To be more exact Eel Pie Island, Twickenham – infamous in the 1960s for the music venue that counted The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Pink Floyd and The Who among performers. More latterly it was home to the late Trevor Bayliss – the inventor of the wind up radio.
Our daily commute is now via a footbridge across the river, past several of the 26 artist studios based on the island and through a working boatyard. There’s still a little (actually quite a lot) to do, but we’re hugely excited about moving to a place with such a strong current and historic creative vibe. We’re also looking forward to becoming experts in reading the Thames tide tables.
